About Little Wombles

Nicky McDougal started Little Wombles in 2011 at her family home on Wimbledon Parkside opposite Wimbledon Common (hence the name).

Nicky is a qualified Primary School Teacher who previously taught in two South West London Private Schools for nine years. After the birth of her first daughter Nicky realised the demand for high quality childcare in the area so decided to put her knowledge and experience of teaching and being a mum into building a successful childcare provision. Demand for places at Little Wombles grew rapidly so the McDougal family moved to facilitate this growth.

Little Wombles Westover is located in a beautiful semi-detached house in Wandsworth, between Earlsfield and Wandsworth Common. The lovely enclosed garden has sand and water play, an outside house, slide, areas for growing produce and lots more outdoor fun. The downstairs double reception room has been transformed into the Nursery area where many of the exciting and stimulating activities take place. This room leads straight out onto the garden. In addition to the extensive curriculum offered at Little Wombles, there are specialist led classes throughout the week in sport, music, dance and French which the children are always enthralled by. The children are taken on daily outings to the local parks, soft play centres, and the library. At Little Wombles Westover we have an excellent team of enthusiastic, experienced and highly qualified Early Years Practitioners who are passionate about providing the best care and educational experiences for the children in our care.

The Broomhill Road Nursery consists of a large main hall where our toddlers and pre-schoolers are based and two smaller classrooms, one of which is for our babies. The Nursery also boasts a good sized outdoor area. Little Wombles Broomhill is situated across the road from King George's Park which the children visit regularly whether that be to use the play parks, feed the ducks, play sports or have their lunch! The Nursery is in a truly fantastic location for outings. The children regularly visit the library, local soft play centres, the supermarket and the Fire Station. The Nursery's private and enclosed outdoor area is utilised daily for sand and water play and a wide range of other activities. Little Wombles Broomhill also has weekly specialist led classes of sport, music, dance and French.

All our staff are highly experienced and qualified, holding Level 3 qualifications in Childcare or Degrees in Education. All our staff are Paediatric First Aid trained.

Little Wombles is open from 8am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday for children aged 6 months to 5 years. There are breaks at Christmas, Easter and Summer.

Both settings boast well equipped indoor and outdoor spaces providing exciting and stimulating environments for our children to grow and learn. At both settings we pride ourselves in keeping numbers of children small with high staff:child ratios in order for children to receive the best individual care and attention and allow plenty of space for play and learning.

We provide buggy storage.

There are regular parent's evenings to discuss your child's progress as well as parent social events to encourage and grow support and friendship within the Little Wombles community.

Little Wombles is committed to providing excellence in childcare and education.

Little Wombles is committed to the inclusion of all children. We believe all children have the right to be cared for and educated to develop to their full potential alongside others. All children are entitled to high quality care and education that enables them to share opportunities and experiences and develop and learn from each other. We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs and are fully included in all areas of nursery life.
